The Thistle Dew Dessert Theatre is comfortably located in the lower level of an 1894 Victorian house. It is the center for original theatre in Sacramento and the home of the Thistle Dew Playwrights Workshop.
Thistle Dew is Sacramento's unique intimate theatre experience. The 39-seat theatre presents original dramas, comedies and musicals. It is the only theatre in Sacramento (perhaps the world) where dessert is included in the ticket price. It is the only theatre in Sacramento where, when you attend a play, you are sure to meet the playwright and some of the members of the Thistle Dew Playwright's Workshop.

The Playwright’s Workshop meets every Monday at 7:00pm at The Thistle Dew
Theatre, 1901 P Street. Readers, writers, theatre critics, directors,
producers, actors, and theatre aficionados are invited and welcomed. If
you have some Monday evenings free and would like to take part in the very
rewarding process of bringing new plays and musicals to the Thistle Dew Theatre,
and to the world, please attend any Monday evening.
There is no charge to participate in the workshop.
